About

Created for a Purpose is a ministry that shares the gospel of Jesus Christ with 3rd – 8th grade girls through creative art projects, sound biblical teaching, worship and small groups.

Created for a Purpose began in 2006 by a group of mothers who wanted to get their daughters and their friends together to learn more about Jesus in a hands on way. In 2008 the ministry moved to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. In 2011 the week long program included 165 girls, over 50 adult and teen volunteers and a waiting list. Currently, Created for a Purpose is a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church with its own Board of Directors.

We are currently expanding the ministry in several ways:

  • We are establishing training programs and licensing opportunities so that other churches can offer Created for a Purpose to their community.
  • We are reaching out to inner city organizations in the Greater Birmingham area to offer Created for a Purpose to girls in lower income areas.
  • We are setting up mission trips to help smaller churches in primarily un-churched areas reach the girls in their communities with the gospel of Jesus through Created for a Purpose.
